Environmentally Friendly Living

All residents of Minamata City play a leading role in the City's aim to be a "Model Environmental City". In recognition and fulfilling the motto, "We ourselves will create and protect the area in which we live", we will work closely together to make our lifestyle environmentally friendly in our daily life so as to conserve the environment.

Making an Environmentally Friendly Region

Having experienced unprecedented industrial pollution and the resulting Minamata Disease, we have become determined not to allow such an incident to occur again.
According to our ISO 14001 Certification, we are now building a Model Environmental City and implementing environmentally friendly development throughout our entire region.
